Hi all ,wishing everyone a Happy New Year ! Thought I'd share a few bird sightings from over the Xmas period-I've only managed a couple of trips out to local spots but I've been lucky to see some little crackers..
Firstly Mrs and Mr Black Redstart on the beach at Falmouth
Redshank feeding at high tide
and a Grey Wagtail chasing insects
Mediterranean Gull rock-pooling on the beach
and I've had a flock of Redwing feeding on the green in front of our house for a week or so now
and one from today -a lovely 1st winter Ring-billed Gull on Newquay Boating Lake
Best wishes, Jayne

Hi Jayne, Happy New Year to you also, a lovely selection there, have had no Redwings yet and the Ring Billed Gull is a nice looking fellow.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Love the Redstarts.

Thanks Catlady and MC -the B Redstarts are very Robin-like,no wonder you like them!

It's clearly going to be another year of beautiful photography from you! A lovely set.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
What a belting set of species Jayne, so good to see these beauties and super photos, hope the new year 2018 proves just as enjoyable and fruitful :)
