On another well know local bird club forum in North East England back on 31st May, David Braithwaite the site manager for RSPB Saltholme said he hoped that the RSPB would be able to sign a long lease for a wetland in Cleaveland not far from Saltholme called Saltern Wetlands in September of this year and would come part of the Saltholme reserve. Any news on this yet?

The Environment Agency have organised an open afternoon at the new Saltern Wetlands on 9th September 2pm to 5pm. RSPB staff will be present to talk about how the site will be managed in the future as part of the Saltholme reserve. We are making good progress towards signing the lease with the EA
