Is it possible to pick blackberries in or near Rainham Marshes?
Thinking of doing it on and off while waiting for the crake to show up.

You'll be taking a risk though if you want to see the crake! You can only see the crake from inside the Shooting Butts Hide, when it does show it is often only on view for a few minutes, and you can't pick blackberries in the hide - even if someone phones you as soon as it appears, you might not get back to the hide in time!

Went along yesterday. Didn't see the crake unfortunately. Found some blackberries along the side of the entrance road after the reserve had closed, but not all that many. Might go back and try the crake again at the weekend. Anyone know if there are any better spots for blackberries within the reserve?
Don't worry doggie, they're going to get washed before I eat them.
