Hi all I wonder if anyone can help.today I saw a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, grabbed my bins and sure enough it was,grabbed camera after rushing indoors,first no card in camera,then wrong lens, by which time the bird had gone.
Now I live opposite a small nature reserve, I am now wondering what are the chances of seeing this bird again the Great Tits and Blue Tits ,Sparrows and Doves etc are regular visitors do Woodpeckers have the same traits in behaviour?
I am new to all this but live in hope I must sat he/she was a spledid looking bird,first one for me .

I did think this was a Greater Spotted but after using Bird Identifier the sounds are very different
