Very surprised today to see this guy on the reserve. if there is one it usually means there are more. They seem to be the curse of waterways all over London and the south east these days. There is even a pond on Hackney Marshes where you can see their young sunbathing. I have seen these terrapins up and down the River Lee from the Olympic Park to Fishers Green. Just wish they were not to be seen at RSPB Rainham. I saw this one at the pool on the boardwalk just past the Ken Barrett hide. Probably nothing can be done to get rid of these pests from the marshes
I saw them last year and didn't realise they where bad for nature until I posted my photo.
