Hi all,
I made my first trip out to Pulborough Brooks on Bank Holiday Monday after seeing the great variety of birds being seen there and having spoken to Rocking Robin who I know from the Elmley reserve on the Isle of Sheppey.
Here are a few photos from the day...

The highlight of the day for me though had to be a double raptor showing of 3 Common Buzzards and a Peregrine. Initially one Buzzard flew low directly overhead.
This was closely followed by the Peregrine.
Then suddenly 2 more Buzzards joined the first and we stood there in awe as they circled directly above us, catching the thermals and slowly soaring higher and higher, until eventually they disappeared into the clouds.
I'd love to know how high they were but it was amazing to watch (apart from the stiff neck afterwards). A great end to the day!

Nice photos Gaz, glad you had a good time at Pulborough. Just a couple of comments on the IDs - the bird labelled Sedge Warbler is a Willow Warbler, and the bird labelled Peregrine is a juvenile Hobby.

Thanks. It's a lovely place and I'll certainly be going back. This time though not relying so much on the sat nav which got completely confused and tried to make me drive through the woods! :o~

Thanks for the corrections on the IDs. I'd not got photos of either a Willow Warbler or juvenile Hobby before so I'm actually quite pleased my IDs turned out to be wrong.
