I am reading all these threads and I am inanely jealous. Working weekdays at the moment, and weekends are busy, so no entirely sure when my next visit to the Wetlands is going to be. Not that long I hope.
It looks like it is changing rapidly now.
There were no Crested Grebes there when I visited a couple of weeks back. Top of my Newport Wetlands hit list this year, is to get some really good shots of them. Got plenty last year, but none I would want to get printed out. I have one empty hook in the living room waiting for that shot! ;o)

It was in R9, so if the hide shaped gap turns into a hide, it'll make life a bit easier. :)
The shovelers have been taking lessons from the grebes. The pochards, on the other hand, all wanted in, as soon as they weren't the centre of attention! :)

And just woken up with 'bad hair' :)
Oh Cath .. you should have been there on Friday .. the Grebes (of both flavours) were right up against the NorthWestern lake fencing. I got some of my best Grebe photos I have taken there.
