The forecast was dismal for the weekend past. Having said that there was blue sky early on Saturday morning so we thought we'd try an hour before the weather got too bad. A few Redwings flew swiftly over. Not much else was in the skies. The odd small bird went past too quickly to see carried along at 30mph. What made it worth it was views of an Otter from the first screens, catching fish. Video included with all frames that include the Otter. 50x zoom in high winds with an Otter diving and appearing 20m away don't make for high quality viewing.
We got soaked in heavy downpours. Driving away from reserve found that we had a punctured tyre. We haven't had the car long and it contained a repair kit rather than a spare wheel. Got soaked again trying to use the kit. It didn't work so had to call RAC. I will definitely be getting a spare wheel very soon.
Colin any footage of the Otter is good footage, well done for perseverance.
Brilliant footage, fabulous to see an otter catching the fish, not many people have the privilege to see that. Hard luck with the puncture, glad you managed to get it sorted.
Lot to learn
Well done getting that amazing footage in such awful conditions Colin, can empathise as I struggle with SX50 at full stretch, be lost without tripod! Never seen an Otter myself yet, live in hope though!
Definitely a downer getting the puncture!

Great footage of the otter, shows what can be around whatever the weather. sympathise with puncture, first thing I did when had a new car was get spare on e-bay as heard that repair kits a bit of a waste.
great footage Colin and shows how adept they are at diving and catching fish, he/she won't go hungry looking at those meals ! thanks for sharing this wonderful clip; weather hasn't been exactly photo/video friendly of late so you did exceptionally well.

Thanks for all the kind comments. It's taken a while to reply as Talk Talk broadband has been out all week. One sighting is enough to make a visit to the wetlands a highlight. Looking for Spare wheels on ebay now.
That's brilliant Colin. Seen them a few times down there but never stayed long enough for a video. Brilliant! Sorry to hear about the tyre problem. We were actually talking recently in the Wetlands café about the fact that new cars don't seem to be including proper spare wheels by default these days; which is bonkers!
