It's not been too productive on the main reserve recently but the hedgerow of Perry Lane has been amazing!
It's packed with Redwing feeding on the hawthorn berries.
This is only a record shot but for the first time I can see how the Redwing got its name - not just for the small reddish patches glimpsed when it's wings are at rest but for the underwing seen in flight.
Tucked away in the hedgerow but sometimes joining the Long-Taied Tits there are Goldcrest
The Robins are so confiding!
Nice pictures John, oh to see the Goldcrest.
I'm impressed with the Goldcrest photos John. They move so quickly that its difficult to get them in your viewfinder long enough to get a focused shot. Well done.
Lovely photos John. Had redwings on one occasion and I think a fleeting visit from a Gold crest. Wish I could get my BR to feed from my hand. He is getting nearer though!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Super Goldcrest photos. Nice to see another hand fed Robin.

Thanks for the kind comments David, Colin, Catlady and M.C. - much appreciated! I've got to admit it's absolute luck if any Goldcrest photos are successful, as Colin says they don't stay still long enough to focus so it's a case of taking loads of shots and hoping for the best.
I had a similar problem with a Wren at Uskmouth today. At best it was a record shot but took me 40 minutes.
