I didn't have much time to look around Minsmere today so I settled on a visit to the Wildlife Lookout. It was definitely a good call:
This beautiful male chaffinch and blackbird insisted I snap them on my way through the woodland.
One of our friendly great black-backed gulls put on a lovely flying display. Frankly gulls don't need much encouragement for this sort of thing.
A few of the multitude of barnacle geese which flew in as I watched. There were at least 500 of them!
'I'm not at all sure about walking on this stuff......is it safe?'
'Safe? Absolutely not.'
These Konik ponies aren't remotely bothered by ice.
Our lovely, subtle jackdaws. Well, lovely is accurate.
Enjoy, as always!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
what a handsome male chaffinch and so nice to see the Konik ponies, I recognise the name from our time in Poland and where these horses originated ! Lovely photos one and all Clare and the dancing on ice L.Egret lol
