............I seem to be visiting it quite frequently of late! It's not surprising, though, when the hide isn't a long walk away and the sunlight is so beautiful. Here's what was about:
This was actually taken just outside the Visitor Centre! I don't often manage to get dragonflies - I'm told that this is a common darter.
Right, all the hide stuff now. I really hope no tails were being bitten here.
A startled looking gadwall.
A beady stare in mid-preen.
Nice to see a common sandpiper again!
How to really enjoy bathtime.
I never tire of seeing a lapwing's glowing colours.
Splash!
A magpie tries the Canada geese technique of take-off.
I love the way they make such a racket as they depart!
Peace and quiet at last.
I wondered why everything suddenly took off in a panic.
This grey heron managed to stay put, though. Beautiful.
Enjoy, everyone.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Lovely collection, Clare--Thanks! Minsmere continues to live up to its reputation.
Kind regards, Ann
Fantastic collection of photos and species Clare and love the M.Harrier, looks like there's never a dull moment at Minsmere !

Great photos Clare, you are doing well with your flight shots, the heron is looking rather regal and I too really like the lapwing.
Lot to learn

You were told wrong - it's a female Ruddy Darter (no yellow on the legs and the black on the face extends down the sides of the eyes).

Thank you. I have a lot to learn!!
