i don't know whether anyone else can hear what I think is the churring sound of Nightjars in the background on the heathland on the Dartfort Warbler webcam on the BBC Springwatch website this evening. I'm sure I can.
Regards,
Ian.
Quite possibly Thomo as nightjars are breeding close to where the Dartford warbler camera is located and will start churring from about 9.30 pm
Will have to listen more intently in the light of this info!

Just to say that on the BBC Springwatch website, Nightjars can now be heard churring on the Dartford Warbler nest webcam which is webcam number 1, if anyone is interested in hearing the sound they make live.
The churring seems to have stopped for the moment.
The Churring sound of the Nightjar came back on the webcam, but it's now changed to the Sticleback webcam under water.
Are you watching on red button or your PC Thomo?
My PC. When I checked a few minutes ago the webcam wasn't on the PC or the red button at present.
Just checked & webcams go off at midnight but on red button on TV all night!
That's what is says every night about the red button, but the woman's World Cup in football is now disrupting the overnight service on the red button and sadly there will be no overnight red button service from this weekend until Wednesday night into Thursday morning, that is on the very last day of Springwatch.
That's a blow!!!
There's only been a few hours live during today behind the red button, because of different live sport events.
Don't I know it Thomo, luckily I could escape the footie & GP as it was lovely weather for gardening!!
Unfortunately, it's always sport that seems to take priority on TV.
