I was in the Island Mere hide on Sunday evening 28/09/2014 and was watching the Bearded Tit in action and I was asked by a lady in the hide if I posted on the blog. I replied yes - she then asked if I got some nice photos would I post them on here, so here goes. They are not brilliant (Clare disagrees) but I do hope you like them.
EEEK you have spotted me
All in a flutter
EEEK it is a human watching me
I hope the wind does not blow as I am in a bit of a predicament
Look right - look left - if it is all clear, fly!
i'm behind you
If i look a bit grumpy, so would you if you had to put up with all that pinging
I am just so beautiful don't you all agree,
How time flies when you are having fun. Well, folks, that is all for now - I must fly now so bye.

Thanks Limpy. It certainly is a beardie delight at the moment
They're elusive little blighters normally, so often hiding behind a reed that any pictures are great to see :-)

Nice series of shots there Limpy. There are certainly plenty about at the moment. Must be a record year I would have thought. They have even bred at Rainham Marsh this year!
Lovely photos Limpy, Have never seen one up here.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Great pics - I had a happy time chasing them around Rainham - they're always a delight to see.

Limpy, You were sooooo lucky to have such good views of Beardies! The male is especially gorgeous. And there is something about the eyes of your first subject that makes it look permanently startled--very charming. Minsmere is the first place we saw Beardies a few centuries ago--several were foraging on the path in front of one of the hides in plain view so we were lucky, too!
Kind regards, Ann
