It maybe wet and raining but the wildlife aren't bothered

A visitor has told us about a water rail (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/w/waterrail/index.aspx) mooching about under the feeders for a few minutes, early one morning.

A Cetti's warbler (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/c/cettiswarbler/index.aspx) calling from the bridleway silt pool area.

Those who reached the wetlands – some people park at the Dog and Doublet, Bodymoor Heath, and walk along the canal - saw ....

Reed bunting (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/r/reedbunting/index.aspx) moving round Fishers Mill Lake.

Little egret (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/l/littleegret/index.aspx)

and Grey heron (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/g/greyheron/index.aspx)

moving around the flooded lakes, perhaps looking for muddy edges.

And starling (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/s/starling/index.aspx) flocks - not huge numbers now, though, just a few separate groups.

Watch out for evening rook (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/r/rook/index.aspx) flocks going to roost around the tall trees at the back of the play meadow.
