Wow, it felt like winter today and I had to use my hat and gloves! Good walk round the reserve, albeit very muddy indeed, and have taken my patch list up to 73 birds and I only started visiting last June. Most pleased to see siskin, mistle thrush, little egret and coal tit. Pair of bullfinches flying together, herons looking at nests. Good views of great spotted woodpeckers, a tree creeper, 3 male goldeneyes but no raptors at all. Looking forward to seeing spring start approaching in the next month or so.
