Barn Owl?

Hi everyone,

It's my first post on here!

I've been attending Middleton Lakes for the past few weeks in the evening looking for Barn Owl. However, I've not had any luck!

Does anyone know where I might see one hunting at the reserve? I've tried the obvious places near the old barn at the back of the car park to no avail.

(On the plus side l, I've had great views of the Bittern sitting still (for once!) in the reed beds.

    Hi Jonno,
    Do you follow them on socials? They often mention where it has been sighted.

    We spent a wonderful 5 mins watching the owl hunt a couple of Saturdays ago. We had just started walking down the long path to the reserve and he was indeed hunting over the field behind the old barn, and we watched from the gate. He disappeared around the back of the old buildings you can see.

    This was about 10.30 in the morning!.

    We have also seen him at dusk over the play meadow after we had returned to the car
