I was at Kinnordy today when a lady came into the hide and told us about a swan that was trapped between the hide and the walk back to KIrrie. She has put the details in the book in the hide. We phoned RSPB from the hide and they said they would email the rangers. Just need to know that the swan has been rescued.
PS.. seen the Marsh Harrier when we were there.
I'm so sorry for not replying sooner - it has taken me over a month to find this post!
I did get the note about the swan in the visitor book. However after going to look for it along the path unfortunately we couldn't find a stuck or stranded swan anywhere!
The only thing I can suggest is that there was no need to worry about the swan as I do know of a swan that has been at that end of the reserve (i.e. by Lily pond) since before Christmas ('10).
Or perhaps the swan was lucky enough to free itself.
