A Bittern was seen last saturday morning around mid-day. I spent a couple of hours there in the afternoon but didn't get a sighting of it. The previous saturday, i was lucky enough to have a kingfisher come and sit on a post, in front of the gullery hide for a good 5 mins.
Lets hope its the same Bittern as last winter and stays around for a while

In case you haven't seen the blog recently, the bittern was seen again on Thursday and Friday last week. With the ice retreating a little there could be good opportunities to see this bird feeding in the next few weeks

Hopefully the bittern will stick around when I'm on holiday at the end of the month!
Great news of the bittern! I was fortunate enough to see last year so hope it will be there for a while- hoping to get over Sunday
