I was at Kinnordy today for a couple of hours in beautiful sunshine. An Osprey was sitting at the top of the tall pine, next to the old barn and was tucking into a fish it had caught. The local male usually takes his catch back to the nest site so i did wonder if this bird was either from another site or just passing through. My thoughts were soon answered when, from the east hide, i watched another male rise from the water with a large pike and take it off in the direction of its nest. The other male was still tucking into his lunch/brunch.
Lots of other birds around..teal, shoveler, gadwall, goldeneye, tufties, mute swans, 4 whooper swans, heron, siskin, treecreeper, goldfinch, yellowhammer, skylark. Roe deer and Red squirrels were also around.
