Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.
IMAGICAT
We have had one sighting this evening, noted by Pia on Chat.
17.55 and osprey flew in and landed on a branch just visible on the right hand side. It appeared to be tucking into a fish
18.13 it took flight, and landed on the nest confirming it was Klive. He had already finished his fish and cleaned his beak on the stick in the nest. He pottered and stood, staring at the surrounding land.
18.16 Klive took flight, flying to the left and then behind the nest.
Good to see him today, albeit briefly.

Buzzard - flew off in a glitch:
Klive's evening visit:
Very funny footage—great tit was cleaning up the lens just as Klive has cleaned up the nest at the end of the season!

27 August
Nestcam - Pre 10:00 I counted 5 Chaffies, all male-looking.
During the morning the wind was vicious (FF-ing exaggerates it) and I saw white flashes in the distant tree where Klive brings his fish - but it turned out to be a branch of that dead tree that doesn't usually come into view.
PTZ - on the nestcam perch a Blue Tit and some Great Tits fluttered 'n pecked - I tried to crop (no cam zoom ) but it was too blurry for close-up vid or snaps.
No-one of interest to LG Osprey watchers was seen by me all day up to nightcam.

YIKES !!!
I hadn't checked the nest cam !!!
He did a flyaround with fish at 20:33 and perched on his usual dead treetip to eat it. Shame he didn't fly off to our right, he just disappeared off the left side.
28 August
Great Spotted Woodpecker - the PTZ had out-zoomed mere moments before its arrival
NESTCAM - "6-minute rainbow in 25 seconds"
PTZ - It studied the rainbow's ends in the trees - and there was a bit of a shadow-double on this cam, not visible on nestcam.
Klive not spotted by me today - on any cam!
31 August
Look who turned up !!!
Stayed the best part of 3 hours, nearly all on the perch preening - his feathers looked too wet for him to have eaten a fish since catching one, he'd have dried out by now.
The nest cam was rather dark a lot of the time so I only did the fly-off from there.
We've had GSWs and lotsa little birdies at the nest but no zoom on the PTZ and the nest cam wasn't clear, what a shame.
And he is back again this afternoon, with a fish, probably a brown trout from the Spey. He was hiding his face, or trying to hide from us, LOL The cam had been trained on the nest and moved to the old dead tree. I am assuming it is the dead tree by the PTZ frame.
14.34
14.39
I just wasn't quick enough to catch his face and beak before he turned away again. At least he is being kind enough to show his ring.
Just before Klive arrived the PTZ lighted upon our Buzzard, but couldn't stay long (I'm going to leave Klive till later).
Well spotted Scylla!
Klive was still on the dead tree branch, obscuring the view but at
16,33 Klive flew, with his fish
16.34 cam found him on another branch of the dead tree.
16.43 difficult to see whether he has dropped the fish or not
16.49 but he starting showing signs of eating again!
there is a good portion of fish left to eat for his supper
17.05 home time for the VC staff. The cam leaves Klive with his fish and moved to cover the empty nest.
