EDITEDI thought we should have a new thread to record the development of the two chicks who hatched successfully at Clywedog this year. UPDATE. One of the chicks was killed in an attempted goshawk predation on 18 July 2023.
The introduction to the nest and happenings between March and June 2023 on this Thread©
5F Seren, the female who has been here since 2020, returned from migration on 25 March 2023. The unringed Dylan, the male since 2016, returmed two days later. Eggs were laid on 13 April, 16 April and 19 April. The first egg hatched on 20 May, and the second egg 2 days after that. The third egg has not hatched and will not do so now.
A highlight was the visit on 12 May from 496, the only chick which fledged from this nest in 2021.
Carnyx Wild provide video streams; the current stream is available here. The link to the feed changes every 12 hours. There should be 2 cameras, but one has not been streamed so far this season due to condensation in the lens; it is hoped this may be changed when the chicks are ringed.
Other links to the Facebook page and John Williams blog are on the introduction to the first thread above.
Grateful thanks to those who are gifted enough to record images and videos from this lovely, mainly tranquil, scene.
UPDATE This thread will be used to record updates on this nest and the Llyn Clywedog area before the start of the 2024 season.

OH I so agree AG - (it wasn't a Goshawk that depleted the clutch but I can't remember why only one chick fledged)
Regarding ospreys and rainbows the Foulshaw Osprey tweets are very entertaining particularly this one if you follow the link... twitter.com/.../1650394916810260481
07-08:00 8B2 spent most of the time on the perch, then he landed on the nest and waited for a fish... and waited... and waited, until flying off:
But he was soon back waiting again and this time Dylan had the temerity to deliver a stick!
8B2 flew @ 12:34, back a few minutes later to wait again, and now we must all cry together because off he flew:
And in flew Dylan with a lovely fish - but he dashed off with it immediately, I do hope he'd spied his boy and was racing to deliver it:
In case anyone's concerned that it might have been 496 back again - two bare ankles
IMAGICAT
Good news!
Just a marker to say that the cam has been zoomed in on 8B2 eating, might have a look for notable/pretty sights later, if time and energy.

No posing suitable for a portrait.
Late afternoon, Dylan resumed his nestorising with a substantial stick!
Shortly after he left 8B2 came back with his fish, lots still left. I can't be certain that it was all gone when he stopped eating and flew:
Then Seren brought him another fine fish, which he's somehow finding space for in his greedy gullet!
09 August
8B2 had been hanging around since before 05:30, Dylan and paid a very quick visit (couldn't see why), and then a nice early fish:
Half a fish for tea - I roughtly chopped out some post-delivery screeching time:
A good fish, this doesn't do it justice - 9B2 was on the nest waiting for it:
496 might be on the nest again - anyway, it's a blue-ringed male.
EDIT
'Tis he, even tho the ring number is unclear:
