So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks. Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

The intruder came onto the perch - 8:15, blue Darvic on its RIGHT leg!
It (she?) stayed for around 5 minutes and followed LR0 as he flew off, leaving his fish on the nest
There was an ensuing chase before LR0 headed up to the cam post
The blue ringed intruder carried on flying over the cam post
LP8 collected the fish and tucked in
I wonder if the intruder was 8C (hatched at Glaslyn in 2014. A female osprey who fledged as the youngest of a brood of three in 2014)? She intruded here earlier in the season.
Recording by SWT from the 12th May: Two Ringed Intruders in One Morning! (In the video, 8C is the second intruding Osprey out of the three to land on the nest that morning)

A 'live' fish from Laddie at 14:40
LP8 initially tried to take it
Laddie kept his talons on the fish
When he released his grip, the fish flapped to the edge of the nest
LP8 managed to pick it up as Laddie flew off
LR0 waiting while LP8 began its meal
As far as I can tell on scroll back, there have been no other fish deliveries since my last post
15:27 LP8 had paused eating, very much wary. It flew off nest with the remainder of its fish
15:48 LR0 has remained on the nest
19:36 LR0 waiting quietly on the nest
19:49 LR0 alarm called and left the nest after seeing an Osprey, who had been on the birch, leave its perch and begin its flight from left to right across the Loch. Alarm calling/screeching could be heard
Crows could be heard calling and appear on the left side, at least one could be seen through the gaps in the trees following the Osprey
LR0 flew high and out of cam view
An Osprey could then be seen flying low, past the birch area, and over the inlet
FISH !!! !!! !!! 2 juvies tried for it - one won, the other is standing by. Nice whole small/medium fish.
IMAGICAT
20:18 Both at the nest after arriving back at 19:53ish. LP8 on the perch, LR0 shouting for fish

Thanks Scylla, I was in RF at the time! lol
Oh I'm so pleased LR0 had a successful claim - he hasn't had anything since his breakfish was rudely interrupted this morning!
20:27 LR0 has just flown off with the fish (Edit: now back on the perch!)
He had a quick flight around before landing back on the perch to continue his supper
LR0 swallowing the fish tail at 20:36ish
