So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks. Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

LR0 arrived back to the nest at 18:58 while LP8 was continuing to eat its fish At 19:13, while LR0 was fish calling, LP8 looked around, made some high-pitched short calls, and headed off the nest with a sizable remainder of fish in its talons
LR0 remained on the nest until 19:27ish when, after making several alarm calls, flew off. He could be seen flying high, above the Loch towards, and then beyond the birch
Almost a couple of minutes later, LP8 returned to the nest with its fish looking very alert
LP8 waited for almost 15 minutes before resuming its meal. Within that time, LR0 could be heard fish calling on the cam post

19:47 LR0 came down from the cam post. LP8 guarded its fish
20:00 I wonder if LR0 will get a chance to eat from the fish?
So it was 8C(14) who intruded yesterday!
SWT YT video: Intruder Alert! Ringed Osprey Lands on the Nest
LR0 successfully took the fish from LP8 at 20:49
LP8 left the nest at 20:50
LP8 headed towards, and then flew, over the birch
Back into view after a short flight over the Loch (in that area) to land on the birch
21:05 LR0 had been bothered by crow(s) during his meal. After flapping rain from his wings and then looking around quietly, he flew from the nest with the fish firmly in his talons
No leftovers for the crow!
LR0 landed on the birch
21:32 Night cam came on
19 August
They were both on the nest, then one suddenly shot off! The other remains on the perch.
IMAGICAT

GLIDER, apologies, I didn't see your posts last night. A lucky guess at it being 8C(14)! lol Yes, NC0 has been a fantastic mum again this year! Wishing her a very safe migration and looking forward to seeing her back here next season!
11:17 LR0 landed on the nest and began to call for fish. LP8 could be heard calling too while on the cam post
He left at 11:35, making short alarm calls as he flew away. LR0 could be seen flying high over the birch
It's a very gusty day. Still no fish delivery or visits from Laddie as yet
