So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks. Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

LP8 flew from the perch at 10:04.
10:30 ENS and it is pouring with rain - could do with that here in the South!
(See previous page re news of LP8's own presumed catch which was brought to the nest at 6:01!)

13:02 Laddie with a tiny, 'live' fish delivery, LP8 came down from the cam post, while on his approach, to claim it
A stare at a nearby crow
Looking around
A quick nibble
LP8 gave a few squawks then flew off with its fish
A crow jumped onto the nest straight after
Goodness me Laddie, you've excelled yourself yet again! A super fish (a 'live', flapping perch) to LP8 at 14:45
Oh, the poor fish did try to get out of LP8's firm grasp
LP8 waited for over 12 minutes after delivery before finally tucking in
15:35 LP8 being pestered
15:39 LR0 can be heard on the cam post
15:51 LR0 down from the cam post and off to the birch
Juvie on nest with fish, Laddie flies in with nice medium perch, second juvie flies in... but doesn't want the fish! So Laddie flies off with it !!!
IMAGICAT
Fab, thanks Scylla! I wonder if LP8's flapping reaction put LR0 off from taking the fish from Laddie?
Edit: I could hear another Osprey calling (sounded like it was above the cam). Was it from another webcam you were recording at the time? Edit 2: Just watched the Lowes footage, yes it was from another webcam.
LR0 now has LP8's fish after the latter stepped aside at 16:43
16:56 Looks like Laddie has just re-delivered his fish - headless now. LP8 took it
Laddie landed on NC0's birch perch
17:12 LP8 eating the fish tail, LR0 still tucking in to his fish. After yesterday's lack of fish, this is lovely to see!
