All the HISTORY of Balgavies Loch Ospreys can be found at the start of the 2019 THREAD.
It is a SWT Nature Reserve near Forfar, Angus, Scotland. There is no webcam on the nest, and there is no Visitor Centre, only a small Hide with limited car parking spaces.

The nest failed in 2020 and 2019 but the new male KR3 and Unringed female returned in 2021 and raised 3 chicks.

How awful !!!!
Just seen this on Facebook
Hope the juvenile is OK and that we hear something soon
From their FB page 15.21 Mary Rodgers It's all in hand SWT going to put it back in tree later tonight
Mary Rodgers may belong to the SWT, but I'm not sure.
Thank goodness it was near to fledging. It could have been much worse

MaryGK said:As far as we know Karen, the chick is OK. As found on the path and not on the island we can only presume that it was either forced to fledge or had fledged.
Thanks Mary, I was hoping you were around with your close connection to this nest.
Thank goodness the chick is OK and found quickly as it must have been very vulnerable.
Also thanks Sheila for the update. I see the SWT are going to put the chick back in the "tree" (and not nest) so is it the case that the nest has indeed collapsed?
Just reading some comments and this sounds off the alarm bells!!!
I don't doubt for one minute that the SWT know what they are doing but reading adults flying around confused with nesting material seems to indicate no nest so hopefully when the chick is put back in the tree then the adults manage to feed it??
Just seems quite a big ask just now for the chick to balance and be fed
