----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From little 'fluff balls' to almost fully grown ospreys, LR1 and LR2 are doing amazingly well all thanks to the fantastic ongoing care from NC0 and Laddie (LM12). Not only have we seen Laddie providing fish for his family but NC0 has been successful several times just recently as well - what first-class parents they are! There continues to be the occasional intrusion from ospreys passing through, however, the nest and chicks have been protected outstandingly. We look forward to the next exciting phase in the young ospreys' development.

  • Catch up (cont'd)

12:05 A Raven had been back on the nest, LR2 landed on the perch

    The cam zoomed in briefly

12:37ish Laddie came to the nest, chipping/mantling

Distant chipping/alarm calling could be heard

He flew off a couple of minutes later. No threat seen

    It's been ENS since then

  • 15:57 Dive!

Flight away heading around the bend and then out of view

  • 19:35 Laddie to the nest with a fish. I can't make out if it is LR1 or LR2 who came from the birch to claim it

Whoever it was, flew off with their supper

This was such a brief visit, I almost missed it while scrolling through

Edit - after checking the footage a few times, it appeared to be LR1

  • 20:25 LR1 to the nest fish calling

She's in almost the same position as pic #11 (above post) head-marking wise here

    She didn't stay long

  • The nest was empty but fish calling could be heard It became louder and one of the LRs landed on the large perch They stayed a while and then flew into the trees onthe right still shouting
  • Good morning Patily and all,
I can't see that there have been any fish deliveries so far. Both LR1 and LR2 have paid visits to the nest

5:15ish LR2 landed on the perch, LR1 joined him a little while after

6:30 LR1 on the nest fish calling

She was being bothered by an off cam corvid and shooed it away

    Someone was above the cam

    Off she went

As reported by Patily, LR2 was on the perch shouting for fish

    His landing...

He flew off 8:27ish (as Patily stated)

A busy day here but will check in when I can. BFN

  • A quick catch up...

8:50ish LR2 was back on the perch, flying in from beyond the birch

    He looked slightly wet

    Preening

He flew off nest around 9:20

Apart from a Raven pottering on the nest, it's been ENS since, as far as I can tell

  • 14:12ish LR2 landed

    Another above the cam

15:13 LR2 flew from the nest after spending an hour on there fish calling, preening and generally watching the area

15:19 One has flown away from out of view on the left side over to the birch...shouting!

  • 16:12 LR2 (who could be heard before he was seen flying from right to left over the Loch behind the nest), landed, screeching for fish. LR1 came to the nest a few minutes after. It appeared that an adult was on the birch

    16:20 A headless fish delivery by NC0

There was a bit of a fuss as LR1 went to grab it

NC0 left the nest, fish still in her talons!

LR1 left the nest (16:21), she'd been fish calling along with her brother.

LR2 began to mantle and lay down but got up when Laddie appeared (16:30), chipping/alarm calling. Distant calls were also heard.

    Laddie headed off

16:42 LR2 still on the nest fish shouting alongside distant calls of the same
