From little 'fluff balls' to almost fully grown ospreys, LR1 and LR2 are doing amazingly well all thanks to the fantastic ongoing care from NC0 and Laddie (LM12). Not only have we seen Laddie providing fish for his family but NC0 has been successful several times just recently as well - what first-class parents they are! There continues to be the occasional intrusion from ospreys passing through, however, the nest and chicks have been protected outstandingly. We look forward to the next exciting phase in the young ospreys' development.

13:20 There has been a lot of wonderful aeriel/diving activity over by the birch area for the past 10+ minutes.
Well... I've done a kinda vid but think it might have been clearer off the download rather than the screen-capture cropped - plus (excuses are coming!) I'm so hot and uncomfortable and just excerpted bits willy-nilly, sometimes mere dots freezing and disappearing... and added an untimely scene with our 2 lovely kids together:

That is super, Scylla, it showed more than I actually saw. Thank you so very much!
A dive and successful catch by NC0 just after 17:00
The fish was brought to the nest, LR1 had landed just before her mum did

LR2 arrived
While LR1 was tucking in, there was a loud alarm call (not from any of them on the nest so assume Laddie?). NC0 shot off and landed on the birch
A short time after, LR1 flew away with what remained of her fish
LR2 had a rest on the nest before leaving at 17:19ish
At time of posting, it has been ENS since
18:50 A huge headless fish from Laddie. LR2 must have seen him approach the nest as he arrived just before Laddie
NC0 flew in (heard her dulcet tones before seeing her ). LR2 defended his fish
NC0 and LR2 mantled, NCO alarm called...an intruder? sped past over the nest
NC0 was flapping and screeching
It calmed down then LR1 came to the nest
She immediately tried to snatch LR2's fish, he held on with his talons, then...
...used his beak to give him more pulling power to successfully gain back control! Great move, LR2!
He continued to eat the fish (taking it for a tour of the nest as he did so!) until LR1 finally snatched it from him at approx. 19:45
LR2 left the nest at 19:48, leaving LR1 to continue to eat
Present scene at 19:59
20:02 A dive from NC0 but she was unsuccessful this time. She landed on the perch without a fish in her talons
20:09 She headed back to her branch on the birch

20:50 A successful dive from NC0. She brought her fish back to an empty nest. NC0 waited then LR1 arrived
LR1 attempted to take it from NC0's talons twice but mum held on
NC0 then proceeded to feed LR1
When the feed was over, both cleaned their beaks
Just after 21:00, NC0 took flight and landed on the birch, LR1 flew off soon after
A small, 'live' fish delivery from Laddie at 21:25ish, he flew to the nest from a branch on the birch. NC0 and LR1 both made a grab for it, the youngster succeeded
21:46ish LR1 left the nest after finishing her fish
NC0 flew off 5 minutes later
LR2 having a rest until headed off around 22:05
22:18 NC0 has been back on the nest for the past 5 minutes or so
