WEEKLY CHAT (Non-Osprey) SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2021

  • Lynette: So much disruption for young people facing qualifying tests, etc. What happens if the GCSE is canceled?

Annette - I think she will pack it in. She has been trying for 2 years and all the extra tuition and catching up with revision etc is taking its toll. We'll just have to wait and see what the final decision is.

I remember a bird flying into the conservatory one year, quite a to do to get it out but we managed it.
  • Hope Amy can sort herself out. I had a similar reaction to the vaccinaton. Sweaty and painful back, its like when recovering from a general anesthetic, wind pains all through the back and shoulders and a general unwell feeling. Mind you it soon cleared after a couple of days and just a mildly sore arm, Just got to have the second one but thats not till April.

Diane - 16inches of snow, can't imagine that. So pleased to hear that you are managing to cope through it all plus your rabbit family
  • Hundreds of cold-stunned Sea Turtles are being rescued at the South Padre Island Convention Centre in Texas. The video is 54 seconds.

  • Lynette:  That's a shame about your daughter, but I can understand how frustrating everything must be.

Diane: Glad you found some beauty in the midst of all that cold.  Say hi to those bunnies!!

Simply can't believe it's Saturday tomorrow - again!

  • Better weather, temp dropped 10 C from yesterday but humid. My squash plant, a “patty pan squash”, has been chopped and placed in green bin. The stems developed a mouldy sort of fungus and I did not fancy eating the fruit. The butternut pumpkin has a few fruit, most quite small and probably have not time to ripen. I shall be happy with one or 2 as it has grown from buried veggie scraps.
  • Never wears anything that panics the cat. (P J O’Rourke)

I just want to drink wine and pat my dog.

    My child has four paws.

  • HEATHER Sorry to hear that Amy has eye problems,
  • Good Morning. Wildly windy here.

Feel that I'd rather stay in than go off to get the weeks supplies, but suppose I'll have to. At least, I'll tell myself, we don't have all those inches of snow, as Diane does!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
  • Braved the windy, showery weather and got in some food supplies - not many people in the shop as others seemed to have felt they didn't want to go out, either.

My OH went out with Bonnie for their walk this morning but came home and sat down heavily, saying it had left him tired. I keep telling him not to try & do too much, as he is probably still getting over his illness two weeks ago.
  • Quiet on here, as it often is on a Saturday.

My camellias are opening, quite early. I picked a couple which were facing downwards, so would not be able to be enjoyed unless I put them in a vase.
