Aila and Louis' first chick hatched on Friday 29 May. Perhaps we can expect number 2 and 3 to hatch on 1 and 4 June.
May brought lots of fish, clods, shag pile, sticks, osprey and owl intruders and fame to Aila and Louis, appearing on the BBC, Channel 4 and Chris Packham's Self Isolating Bird Club Live.

Good Morning All
Louis delivered a whole fish at 05.19 am this morning.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Chicks sleeping off breakfast and Aila dozing
C WT Loch Arkaig
Chicks have been on their own for last ten minutes
I thought I heard an alarm call off the nest - so not sure if Aila is seeing someone off.
EDIT: She left at 08.26 and I can still hear alarm calls at 08.44 am
Well done the chicks though as they have stayed in the thanatosis position since Aila first called at around 08.30 am
10.05, Aila is back on the nest and off again (alarm calling) at 10.09. She goes to the top of the stick tree. Ian
EDIT - she had also been back at 10.03 but flew off within a couple of seconds.
11.29, Aila is back with nest material. The chicks are still pancaked. Throughout the time Aila was away there was only one instance of breaking ranks when one of the chicks moved a stick but quickly resumed the pancake position. I don't know how to spell that big word Mary used, so I'll stick to pancake Ian
So glad to see Aila back - she can't quite cover all three chicks now....
