Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

Unknown said:The "Collins BTO guide to British Birds" is a very good book, with every picture being an actual photo rather than hand drawn illustrations like a lot of books.
Unfortunately I must have digital, as I am overwhelmed with books and "stuff" and nowhere to put anything any more.
On whim I've just ordered Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to British Birds - it's very unlikely to fit the bill (pun unintended) but it was cheap and should be a fun read as well as educational.

Have a look at this one Scylla, a digital guide with different categories and groups such as colour, size, similar to etc etc, to help narrow the selection down. https://www.birdid.co.uk/

Stock Dove @ 16:20:
Just before 10:30 this morning a lone white Sika appeared, it ended up among the "shrubbery", stayed half an hour and then went back via that "field" on the left where we often used to see the Sika congregating before crossing the lane. I couldn't see any other deer at all, then I spotted some moving dots wayyy in the distance.
More burning yesterday lunchtime:
The cam has been dropping out since the early hours but it seems mended now - only a brave corvid on this wet and windy morning tho.
