Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

Birdies LG DU update.
And still the fish lies alone and lifeless on a sunny nest.
Edit an hour later (13.06), and it is still there

Yes, the cams are bad.
Re the disappearing fish, there's a video on the way but it's taking a very long time to upload/process. Sorry to say it's got missing bits, and my bottom cam was frozen the whole way thru the intruder episodes so we don't get the fuller view of the dive-bombings :(

A brief blog from Katy at RW.
It looks as tho 33 landed with a fish, but which of the other two is Maya I'm not sure. Did she come to land, but took off as the intruder flew over with talons open? Or did the intruder try to land, and Maya came with talons ablaze to see off the intruder? I'm not sure.
Thank you Scylla and Sheila. Just watched the video in the blog (which stutters too!) and Blue 33 was in like a flash to see off the intruder. Well I think it was him.
Edit now I'm not sure was he the first bird or the second. I do so wish Rutland would invest in better technology.
I should have nicked ROP's clip and inserted it in my version ;)
Sorry about not only the glitches herein but also a longueur accidently left in :( This covers from before the fish delivery to its eventual collection.
