Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

Scylla, this is really nice of you giving us our own colours :-)
A tip, but you probably will have already sussed it out!
Not at all! Once I did the basic first-time-lucky, all I've done differently since is fumble around the colours never getting them just right ;-D
What I'm going to do is find a colour that has an easy-to-remember "pantone" (eek!) ref and stick to it - so everyone will have to put up with "my" quote colour :)
A period of calm, aww. Long may it last:
33 arrives and wing flapping. Someone above.
Maya now joins him and both mantling.
Maya flew off - suspect intruder may be female (as females chase females and males chase males)
She quickly returns and remains alert with 33 on the nest
All seems to have settled now and a mating.
And again :)
