Mike, here is the intro. Thanks. Karen
Last season Maya, the resident Manton Bay female, surprised us arriving back 12 March the earliest date ever recorded at a UK public nest. The resident male, Blue 33(11), her mate since 2015, arrived two days later on 14 March and the pair successfully raised two healthy chicks. More details about the Manton Bay nest, including a table of the breeding data, can be found here.
Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33 a safe journey home and for another successful season.

It's these 2 ducks who've been on the nest:
33, I think, drove one of them, the female, off earlier:
Another conflict took place on the water - there was a swan chase:

No you haven't, CIRRUS dear (after all, you're not a boxer - haha, so sorry but I couldn't resist!).
We're all allowed to express a preference or requirement, and I can understand you would like weekly because it's not easy finding where you last left off. At periods of great excitement we do get a lot of pages :o
I snapped this because on the recording laptop it's showing bright citrus yellow along the horizon - but since transferring "over here" it's not nearly so spectacular :-/
One, at least, of these was an intruder:
Then a fish appeared, then a blue-ringed osprey flew over, slightlly touching down, and the fish-holder flew off:
The current situation is that the fish is alone on the nest, this bird having flown:
I'll do a video later, what a confusing episode, especially seeing from a distance like wot I am ;)
12.08 an abandoned fish!
