EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Thanks for updates, Mary. Troup Head and its gannets are among my favourites: the stronger the wind, the better to enjoy their aerobatics :-)
I have never been to Troup Head Roberto, it will be added to my never ending to do list lol....
I was watching the Gannets dive for fish last week in Gruinard Bay though. :-)
Darren was at the loch yesterday, Mrs.Green BF was trying to deal with a persistent intruder and Green BF was not seen when he was there.
The warden is going to let Darren know when Green BF comes back. I had this sinking feeling in my stomach when he told me, I pray it is not another repeat of Odin’s disappearance. I will be absolutely gutted if anything has happened to Green BF.
Here is his report for those not on Facebook. CLICK ON IT TO GO TO THE BALGAVIES FACEBOOK PAGE

Thanks to MARY and DARREN forthe report but worrying about GreenBF
Darren has just msgd me to say the intruder is still there, but the best news is that Green BF just arrived with a fish.
Great news Mary.
It is Alison, I hope that Green BF manages to usher the intruder away.
The fact that it is so persistent I am beginning to wonder if it is one of the four chick brood from 2016 which were all unringed, as all there chicks are since 2012, Blue YD was the last to be ringed in 2012,
That’s interesting. Why did they stop ringing?
OH Thanks MARY That's good news As Alison says, do you know why they decided to stop ringing All the more disappointing that Blue YD's transmitter failed
Roy and Keith Brockie said it was too awkward and difficult to get up to the nest Patily, I am not sure if any of the Balgavies chicks have been ringed before Blue YD In 2012. Balgavies was never really publicised, but when SWT Lowes had a spare transmitter in 2012 they decided to ring and tag YD, so that more or less put it into the public domain.
