Hallo all! Thanks for cute photos of various critters. Lots of work in the garden on this side of the pond; don't understand how a simple job can turn into a three-hour pain in the derriere! :-)
Lindybird: Will be interesting to see how things develop following the UK election. Is that Bonnie's "official" old shoe? :-) Good idea to stash her toys in it.
Margo: Not happy to read that you've had a rough time with one more dose to go. Grrrr. Wish I could wish it away!
LizLFW: Not happy news from LG; what a development. Makes me somewhat relieved that I haven't been watching the nest as closely as in the past. :-(
Brenda: How are those next-door plans evolving? Re the osprey, that's the first time I've seen one at that location- a real thrill. Re the brainless thugs; makes me wonder what it would take to make them appreciate the sacrifices made on their (ungrateful) behalfs (behalves??)
dibnlib: I've been missing the gym again, what with dogs to walk, etc., etc., My whole fitness schedule seems to have gone out the window..... :-((
Diane: So glad you're busy with freelance project.
AQ: Have you done the laundry yet? How was the trip?
Have a good Sunday everyone.
Dibnlib, So pleased that everything has been solved to your satisfaction, at work. I did Google the "Yamoto Japanese Drummers". Sounds a fantastic show to see.
Hi Diane, I hope the project is coming along, fine.
Evening all: Friend has just left for home after a long chatty visit. Am looking forward to not having to chat or listen to anyone this evening. :-) We both went to the whale count today and saw a cow/calf pair right away; such a thrill for friend - and another pair just before we left. Heavy rain for an hour yesterday courtesy of a cold storm from the Gulf of Alaska; nice and cloudy today. Daughter coming home tomorrow, not Sunday, due to last minute switch in granddaughter's work schedule. Hope she'll take the dog and guinea home on her way through town, but have a feeling it may be one or neither for a day or so...
Lindybird: I'm exhausted reading about Bonnie's exploits! Is there such a thing as puppy-damage insurance or puppy respite care?
AQ: Feel so bad for your poor daughter. How old are the twins now? Try to take care of yourself.
Margo: Glad you're feeling better and what a brilliant idea!! No cooking for the week. Go to wonderful places and eat lots of lovely dessert.
OG: Is J going on the trip with you or will he still be working?
dibnlib: So glad things are resolved re the job. Aren't you glad you spoke up.
OK. Off to bank with OH then home for a nap (I hope).
Take care all
dibnlib said:Sunday problems resolved. manager went through my letter and gave me reasons for my various gripes. He has already changed 2 Sundays for weekdays in June. He said that I certainly will not be doing more than 1 or 2 a month after that. He has also okayed my 10 days hols in Sept and changed a Wed for me as OH is working a full day and we don't like to leave Benson all day unless there is no choice. He also said he won't be asking me to work full days any more as I said I did find them tiring. The cooler months aren't too bad but when temps rise I find the shop exhausting. We have 7 large windows and the sun streams in. We also have a ridiculous ammount of overhead lighting which just makes matters worse. The cooling fans we have make little difference. A customer yesterday found it too hot and this was a morning in May!!!! Anyway things are looking up and he is back to being a good guy again.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Good afternoon, its Saturday, it feels so good not to rush up first thing to get out for work.
The sun is shining In Cambridgeshire at the moment, a little breezy though.
I have just about tided round, washing all sorted, in between that I watched Saturday kitchen with the delightful
Richard E Grant, a guilty pleasure of mine :-) he was so so funny and a little risqué regarding some of his responses to the questions, he made me laugh though.
Plus I had EJ visible on the desktop upstairs and the IPad downstairs, I'm frightened of missing anything, my OH thinks I am a little bit mad I'm sure, I'm sure he doesn't really understand the addiction that Ospreys have over me. I miss so much when I'm at work, so I catch up at the weekends.
Now contemplating the dreaded food shopping, my OH closes his ears at the thought of it, probably a good thing, he would drive me batty.
He was going on a 20 mile canoe trip, but he's hurt his shoulder, so decided against it.
Well I am off to build myself up to tackling the supermarket.
Bye for now, have a lovely day everyone.
Afternoon Everyone. A quiet day on here. OG, Linda and Heather away, enjoying themselves, I hope.
Annette, Do I sense that you just want your home back to yourself, now :-)) It is lovely to have friends to stay, but it can be tiring. Hope you have had a good night's sleep.
Clare, I hope you are enjoying your cruise on the Broads. I am sure you will have plenty of photographs.
Tina, Glad to say I did my big shop on Thursday. I hate the shops on a Saturday but something you have to do when you work during the week.
BRENDA - we aren't actually going until Monday - just so busy getting garden ready to leave.
ANNETTE - J will be at home and working - and looking after the garden while we are away!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good evening, what a lovely day its been, my OH and I spent the afternoon on a friends boat, just a mile from where we live, we look after it for him as he lives in Selsey.
There is a swan nesting just 30 yards from the boat, the
house martins were very lively one landed on the boat for a few minutes, such a lovely sound they make.
Three boats along we had a heron sat on the canopy, terns swooping in catching small fish, we even have a seal that has come up the great river Ouse from Kings Lynn, why do I never remember to take my camera.
My OH suggested if its nice again tomorrow, we could do the same again, plus venture out on the boat rather than in the dinghy, plus a BBQ, we shall see what the weather brings.
By the time we arrived home, I felt shattered from doing very little apart from tackling the food shopping earlier.
Brenda: I know what you mean, I have good intentions of doing the food shop earlier, then never get around to it.I have thought about shopping online, but I'm fussy with fruit and veg, also dates on the packaging ( I have to admit)I could go on but its embarrassing really, takes me an age to get round the store,my OH despairs, probably why he prefers not to come with me.
Clare: we love the Broads, last time we went though we took the Canadian canoe and managed a good 15 miles, I was shattered that day, but the wildlife from the canoe was amazing.
Lindy: have a lovely time in Wales.
Annette: the thrill it must be to see the whales, do you help
with the count every year?
I feel an early night coming on, night all.
Not been on all week as nothing much has been happening here.
Just a note on the wedding cake. They got engaged at the Rockerfella building after her fiance tried 3 times previously only to be put off by our S.GD saying "oh lets not go there". He ended up carrying the ring round with them in his sock until finally she agreed to go to the Rockerfella building. Hence the cake being in the NY style.
Was local village festival Saturday today when all the village comes out - stalls everywhere, Morris Dancing, May Queen and parade, stalls in both the main churches - Parish and Carey. I was tied up at Carey doing a chocolate tombola. Not all the donated chocolate went so we are donating the rest to the Girls and Boys Brigades tuck shop.

Just love the pics of Bonnie, Lindy.
Tina - sorry to hear about the problem with your OH and his grandsons but do hope and pray that eventually he will be able to see them.
AQ - see you are both still doing nanny duties. Do hope Dau's little ones settle down soon , although the next stage will be "into everything" I expect and then fun and games. Rest whilst you can even if it means rocking one of them on your knee because that is where they are happiest.
