I took these photos at Rother Valley yesterday and the top one I am wondering if it is a Canada/Greylag and the lower one I think is a Muscovy, I would appreciate any thoughts as my identification techniques leave a lot to be admired. Also got a good one of this Shelduck and frozen feet and frozen fingers, but it was worth it.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
Def think the second one is a Muscovy........the first time I saw one of those I thought it had been attacked and lost its face feathers! Can't help with the first pic though....my identification skills are a little like yours it would seem....but the Shelduck is a great photo, well done :-)

third one is a shelduck with the legs above it of a greylag goose, first one looks a bit of a cross. 2nd is a muscovy.
To each their own
Hi Maggie
Yep - you are correct on all levels. First is a classic Greylag / Canada cross as far as I am concerned. Second is a Muscovy. Nice photo of the Shelduck - worth the cold!
