A Valley full of Reserves

I decided to do the full tour yesterday, (except I missed one).  I set off from Old Moor, along the TPT down to Bolton Ings with Chiffchaffs singing all the way.  There was plenty of activity there.  Then on to Wombwell Ings watching a Kestrel hovering on the way.  I stopped by the litte bridge outside for a break and heard some commotion in the trees.  I turned just in time to see a Woodpigeon fleeing from a Sparrowhawk which had landed on a branch only about a couple of feet away from me.  That was a bit special.  I found a Song Thrush at Gypsy Marsh and then went on to visit Old Moor.  A pair of Snipe and a Ringed Plover were my star sightings here.  It was a lovely day in such a lovely area, and next time I'll go to see how the new site at Adwick is coming on as well.  Here's a few pictures.
