Had a lovely day out in Dearne Valley last Monday.
The Coots were out
The Golden Plovers were out in force
A Swan found a nice quiet place
I shared a bench with these 2 chaps, (can anyone give me an id, please)
And the "4 legged lawnmowers" were busy doing their job at Gypsy Marsh
Now I'm very much looking forward to my next visit.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Glad you enjoyed the day and especially pleasing to note that you explored some of the other sites in the Valley too.
The dragonflies that you shared your bench with were Common Darters. The latin name if you are that way inclined is Sympetrum Striolatum. They both look like males (the females being very washed out and pale).
They do seem to like sunning themselves on the benches and can be seen quite late into the year compared to most of the other species.
Thanks for sharing the photos and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Regards
Matthew
Thanks, Matthew, I'll be back soon.
