Had a cracking day at OM today, including a productive and enjoyable 3 hour stint in the Bittern Monitoring Hide.
Starting on the 'dry' side I spent an entertaining few minutes watching young Tree Sparrows squabble while a Goldfinch who knew his priorities quietly munched away!
Stock Dove
Greenfinch
Willow Warbler. Warbling. But not in a Willow.
And on the 'wet' side - Bittern
Little Egret, showing his lovely banana boots (well one of them)
This Oystercatcher decided to nest on the roof of the Sand Martin bank, and is now brooding
and finally a Mediterranean Gull (with blackie for comparison)
Thanks for looking
Ian
