There seems to have been a massive increase in the number of carrion crows in the Dearne Valley area this year - we have several around our home. They seem to have displaced the magpies! Has anyone else noticed this in the area or elsewhere?
Yes! In Notts there seem to be lots more too. 2 years ago we built a makeshift hide on our school field and all we saw were 7 pigeons. This year we have crows and starlings. As we went out to PE today we counted 14 crows and more than 30 starlings, and that was without a hide! Trying to educate my 6 year olds in bird identification!
