I'd agree. Without them singing it is hard to tell them apart. But Chiffchaff is not often seen on Green Lane. Willow Warbler is. Best id features if you can't hear them is leg colour - dark in Chiffchaff and light in Willow Warbler. You've managed to hide the legs in the shot ;-) but from what you can see, they look pale. Other method to tell them apart is the length of the primary feathers (the longest flight feathers). Again, slightly hidden here by the branch. But from what I can see, they look long. Willow Warbler migrate further than Chiffchaffs so they have longer wings. Cool eh? Hope that helps. Matthew
