Great heads up Mike!

Thanks Trevor,
Where was your purchased from?
CJP ;-)
I've had one of these for a couple of months now.
Anyone doubting the quality - have a look at my bittern pictures

The example I have linked above is about half a frame from my Canon 7d. Lens at 600mm wide open. It is razor sharp on a 60x40cm print hanging on my wall.

Bought it from Wex Photographic - Harrisons weren't stocking it then
(Apologies for the strange order of the posts, I just edited the link so it went to the full size jpeg)
Hi Mike,Trevor - I have a Canon 7D, I also have a Sigma 150-500mm which I used on an old camera. However, I have found the Sigma lens does not work well,or give me the results I want on my 7D(I have tried various settings/modes etc). I was wondering how you find the new Tamron on the 7D? Did you have any problems? If not I might look into trading the Sigma in for the 150 -600mm Tamron
Many thanks, Jayne
See my Flickr photos here.
I have had no problems whatsoever. I had been using a Canon 400mm f5.6 non IS and this lens gives a bit more reach. At a fraction of the price of a ' big white' Canon lens of similar reach, it's excellent.
I have no experience of the Sigma lens you mention, although I see a few birders at Old Moor with them.
