Full credit has to go to the RSPB and it's staff!
I visited Old Moor for the first time yesterday (6.8.2013). and what a day.
I visited the reserve whilst waiting for my brother to come out of day surgery at Rotherham Hospital. Being a photographer himself he will be desperate to return with me. From the minute I walked into reception the staff couldn't do enough for me and the same with the RSPB staff in the hides with the scopes!
A beautifully clean kept place with spacious well kept hides too!
On this my first visit I was treated to many sightings and some great action. Armed only with my "carry around gear" I am so looking forward to returning time and time again with the big lenses etc!
Thanks to everyone including some of the very nice and knowledgeable members of the public who were keen to pass on and share their knowledge and the lie of the land etc.
Glad you enjoyed it Cris. It's my local reserve and I agree with everything you've said about it. Fabulous pictures.

Hi Chris
I'm really pleased you had a good time and we look forward to welcoming you (and your brother) back soon.
Some excellent photos there (and on flickr!). The Marsh Harrier is superb.
As an aside, we have a trip advisor page (search for RPB Old Moor) if you would like to review us on there.
Regards
Matthew
