Working at Coombes

1995 volunteered for a week. The Warden then was Maurice Waterhouse, feared by all as a workmaster. I feel in love with the reserve the moment I walked through the gate going down the track to the old cottage that would be my home for the week. I spent my first visit digging out the defective septic tank so we could use the toilets. Made a good friend in Maurice sadly not to last to long until his untimely passing but returned many times to work and to meet many sometimes strange but interesting folk.
