Hello - This is a rather rushed first post but after a long time with nothing happening on the kestrel nest we came in this morning to find our surprise that the first egg has been layed! Very exciting! So I have switched the web cam over for the time being!
We are still keeping an eye on the buzzard nest so if they do decide to use it we will switch over to them!
But for the time being happy viewing of the kestrels
Michael
Ps - As this has happened quickly the web cam caption will still be for the feeder for a few days until I get the web team to change it over!
Mrs doesn't feed them. She drags the prey after plucking it to the window and flies off with it. Clips to follow.
Chicks home alone, sounds like it's raining
The male is back now and feeding them!
Cheeping loudly and tucking in....
Now mum has returned and then after going to the chicks, flies out again
Mrs has now returned and is brooding again. A couple of pics while waiting for the vid to upload....
Here is the first clip. Mr is at the window and flies off. Mrs plucks and eats from the prey.
Here's the second clip. The chicks are alone for a short while then father comes in and starts to feed them.
Looked in 16.40 to see Mrs had turned around. Beautiful coloured feathers
Mrs has just stood up and revealed left over lunch. She is now eating and the bobbleheads are watching...or at least one is, the other is flat out with its head on the egg lol
