As we have had a fair bit of the white stuff, and with some favourable light this morning I spent half an hour taking photos of some of the birds in our garden and would like to share them with you:-
Robin
Goldfinch
Dunnock
House Sparrow
Light Sussex and Calder Ranger, named Edward and Agnes, yes Edward is a strange name for a 'girl' chicken but unless you get inside the mind of a six year old child........................How about 'Eggward'?
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag" Mary Poppins
Hi ND
Thanks for those photos, they are all so lovely and the birds so fluffy especially the second one of that rare bird you took. Absolutely beautiful!
Loved the names of your chickens and cats! LOL
Really special - thank you!
Regards
Kerry

Bit more of the white stuff, so here are a few more pictures from this morning (Not all birds):-
The climbing rose on the front of the cottage.
The view from the garden (including solitary woodpigeon).
Unusual angle, but the bright blue sky shows up the colours of these Lapwing.
Fieldfare, always one of the winter highlights, followed a flock of over 100 this morning, also plenty of Blackbirds, Redwings and a few Song Thrushes.
Great pictures once more
The icicles on the rose bush bring a cold shiver. Shows how cold it is at the moment.
Great scenary shots in general and of the lone Woodpigeon - lots of snow in the Norfolk area to be sure at the moment.
The Fieldfares are just the best, and the Lapwings are everywhere in their flocks.
Thank you for sharing your photos.
Kathy and Dave
Thank you ND. Really have enjoyed viewing your latest potographs, but do watch those icicles when outside. I loved seeing the lapwings against that clear blue sky. I am jealous you see fieldfare near home. We haven't seen any here this year. Only when we travel further afield.
This is the only snowy picture I have this winter, very little snow in my part of Leicestershire, only lots of Ice.
More brilliant photos ND - those icicles are spectacular.
Great photo Juno - don't worry, from the sound of it the snow is on its way to you as Derbyshire has had quite a lot today, so I understand.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi all
More lovely photos - ND you have ready made icicles to add to your christmas cocktail (slurp!)
Alas no robins but here's one I made earlier!!
That is a brilliant photo Kezmo!
Lovely photograph Kezmo. I thought in these temperatures you may have found an Artic Hare!
Thanks Squirrel and Brenda - you can't see it in the photo but the fur was really thick, however I did want to warn it of the perils of sitting on a cold ground!! LOL
