I thought I would mention our local pond.A few years ago after it had silted up it was dredged when we had a dry summer and made deep again.I stood at the bottom of it before it filled up naturally when it eventually rained. It now has HUNDREDS of goldfish in it.They apparently were introduced by accident when a local resident put in some pond weed from his garden little realising that his fish had spawned in it!Several attempts have been made to get rid of them en masse but to no avail.Small boys with fishing rods have caught some and it is a popular feeding spot with the local heron but still great shoals can be seen especially on a warm sunny day!
It's not always easy to hug a hedgehog.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
