I put up a new nest box last November and blue tits have been interested to the extent they carefully removed all the shredded paper (provided with the nest box) I had put in. Hubby has just installed a camera for me. The box floor now has poo in it, presumably from the blue tits who were spring cleaning and very likely roosting there some nights.
My question is, should I leave the poo, or would it be better to clean it out? I am worried about doing too much in case I frighten them away. You never know which beady eyes are watching when you get a ladder out!
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Brenda,
I can't see it either now. It was there late last night!!! I'll re-load it.
It was worth waiting for ! I can see it now, thanks Sparrow.
Hubby has now connected up all the new scarts and twiddly bits, so I now have lift off with the video for my nest box, and can watch it on my computer and TV. I took a few still shots from tea time when Bluey came home to roost for the night. They are B&W because the light had gone by this time. They are in colour during day light. She still has a lot of cleaning up to do.
I want one!!
They are really clear pictures. Well done OH.
Sarah
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...

Me too, Sarah.
Have you seen any sign of a mate, Sparrow?
Great to see your pictures. Thank you.
Hi sparrow
Really great photo's, lovely and clear.
love the way they tuck they head under.
Still waiting for some one to even go in mine :-(
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!
No Brenda, I have only seen one bird at a time in or near the box, but there are 2 blue tits who spend time in my front garden tree. My rooster flies up to a tall tree in the garden at the back of us and watches the box and the birds in my garden for as long as 10 minutes. When all is clear he drops down to the top of my feeding station pole and waits again, then flies direct to the box. I have watched him do this loads of times during the day when he is coming to spring clean.
I am extremely pleased with the quality of the recordings and still photos. I could do with some better software than the one provided with the box and camera from Aldi. I would like to be able to set it to record on a timer so I can record him waking up and leaving in the morning without hours of watching him fast asleep doing nothing. There are no facilities for this on this software, and I can't find a way of erasing bits I don't want, otherwise it seems fine.
Along with my new camera, this is the best buy I have made.
I'm just about to switch him off for the night. This is him asleep, all fluffed up against the cold. Every night when I switch him off I blow him a kiss and wish him luck!!!!
Lovely photos again Sparrow. I am really enjoying this thread and look forward to the footage.
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi Sparrow
His so adorable,
still no one in my box. :-(
