Hi Everyone,
I'm after some advice regarding nestbox clearing. The chicks have now left the nestbox and unfortunately there are three chicks who passed away. When it comes to removing the dead chicks, do I also need to remove the nesting material? As I've never had to do this before.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks, Alan. Appreciate the reply. Certainly is great news on the young surviving.
The usual advice is to leave any cleaning out until Autumn. However, as there are dead chicks in there I would remove them and the nesting material now. How sad 3 of them didn't make it, but at least the other 5 did.
Cheers, Linda.

What a shame about the dead chicks for both of you. Doggie are there any live ones in there. I agree about clearing the whole thing out now they have fledged. Might give someone else time to have a brood in there.

Excuse wobbily dyslexic spelling!
Oh Doggie, that is sad. Are they fully formed and feathered?
