Hi All,
We put up a Robin nestbox last year, noticed today a Robin in the garden collecting leaves, and flow to the direction of our nestbox,I have since been watching, a pleased to say they are building a nest, I am over the moon.
I hope anyone else who has put up a nestbox, maybe seeing activity as well, fingers x
Kind regards
Karen.
PS Will keep you all updated on the activity ;.)
I too have had the amazing pleasure to have a robin nesting in a box in my garden for the first time. Up until about four days ago, it was taking nesting material into the box. Since then, there has been no sight of it at all and yesterday I had a quick look and there are three eggs in there but non robin to be seen. I am afriad that something has happened to it and now what am I to do.
Can someone please advise?

im not an expert like most but in my opinion she wont start sitting tight until all the eggs are laid then if im correct they will all hatch at more or less the same time but sometimes something or someone might of scared her away, at this stage ..egg laying birds seem at there most skittish
hope this helps
I've just put one up in the clematis not sure whether it is the best position for it but thought it would grow over it and give it more cover this year or maybe next. Ever the optomist lol.

Hi fiona
Don't worry, Birds may lay 1 egg a day. " Robins can lay 6 eggs," before incubating,
This way all the young will hatch roughly he same time.

A warm welcome to the Community fro me. :-)Sadly I have no takers for my blue tit nest box yet. :-(
How exciting for you though. :-)
That is great news, and I'm sure we will all be looking forward to hearing updates as the nesting season progresses. :-)

Hi Judim and All,
Sorry it's a bit late, well after my 1st post, female Robin was busy building the nest, for about a week, then I been watching the Male Robin taking food for her, tried putting out meal worm for them, but starlings got there 1st, since then she has been sitting on her eggs, coming out couple times a day to have a drink and wash in our pond waterfall, well yesterday the male and female have been busy taking worms to the nest, so where the nest box is, we can see it from our conservatory (Adjusting the blind) , and I saw little Robins opening their beaks (not sure how many there are), waiting for their next meal, so sweet, trying not to get to close or seen looking by the mother, in case, we scare them off.
Will let you know when they start feeding themselves in the garden.

Hi wabbit. I am so jealous. No result with my 2 Robin boxes. I think I am going to move them, but where to, that is the question?
There are 9000 species of bird on earth. Let's keep it that way.
